Offers highly effective, high intensity training stimulus, through the use of functional movements. Utilising: Olympic weight lifting, Kettlebells & Gymnastic movements in a safe & friendly training environment.

 

At 'The Box' I train athletes not fitness enthusiasts, Athletes!

Men and women whose objective is the pursuit of real fitness and not the appearance of fitness which is offered by so many of the so called experts in the fitness industry today.

The methodology we use is not new; it is as old as 'training for performance' itself. The methods we use would not seem out of place to the ancient Greeks: jumping, pushing, pulling, climbing, throwing the list could go on. But even though we work from a base of old ideas we are open to new research, discussion, evidence based results driven training and of course our own experimentation and creativity.

We train for improvement, and at this I am expert.

'The Box' is not a nice place; it is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The kit is old, improvised, begged and borrowed. This is not a comfortable place.

Our training will cause apprehension, discomfort and the breakdown of both mental and the physical. Our workouts will not allow you to avoid this, your weakness's will surface for all to see. We all share this discomfort and apprehension, but we support and drive each other to improve.

'The Box' was born of frustration, frustration at what the fitness industry peddles as fitness. 'The Box is what I believe fitness to be.

Few can make a commitment to this ideal, as is seen by the many who approach me and say that they are "fit" and after they have spent 20 minutes with us they are never seen again. I can understand this, real effort and real fitness is not for everyone and these people are of no use to us at 'The Box'. If this is you? Then you are not invited.

But! If you understand what has been said? And you are prepared to lay yourself on the line? Then contact us, we can have a chat, and if you are one of us? Then you will be invited to a session, maybe?

I can assure the likeminded people out there that you are not alone. But who we let in is important to us.
